Parish Organizations

St. Andrew's offers our parishioners a variety of organizational activities to get involved in our parish life. These groups provide social interation and community service activities that all can enjoy and be proud of.  As with all volunteer organizations, we encourage all parishioners to get involved through one of these groups.

St. Vincent de Paul

Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually.  This is accomplished by offering a person-to-person service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founders, Blessed Frederick Ozanam and patron St. Vincent de Paul.  As a reflection of the whole family of God, members who are known as Vincentians are drawn from every ethnic and cultural background, age group and economic level.  Their spirit of poverty, humility and sharing unites Vincentians in an international society of charity.  Prayer, reflection, mutually supportive gatherings and adherence to a basic rule nourish this.  Organized locally, Vincentians witness God’s love by embracing all works of charity and justice.  The society collaborates with other people of good will in alleviating needs and addressing their causes, while making no distinctions in those served, because in them, Vincentians see the face of Christ.  Our parish St. Vincent de Paul's Food Pantry opens on Tuesdays from 10AM to 12 Noon, and is located in the Church basement.  Donations to the food pantry are always welcome. For further information contact the rectory office (716) 873-6716.

Holy Name Society

The Holy Name Society is open to all parish men at least eighteen years of age.  It strives to benefit the men of the parish and to provide them with opportunities to serve the entire parish community.  The Society contributes to parish life in three primary areas.

  • It seeks to provide its members with opportunities for spiritual growth through prayer, education and sacramental opportunities.

  • It provides its members opportunities for recreation, fellowship and community building in a positive and genuinely Catholic environment.

  • It provides members with collective opportunities for volunteer work and fund raising that are of benefit to the entire parish community.

Holy Name meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:30 PM in McNulty Hall.  A quick business meeting is followed by informative speakers or entertaining activities, followed by fellowship and refreshments.  We sponsor a variety of fundraisers, social and spiritual activities.  Our dues are used for our annual high school scholarship for two St. Andrew’s Country Day School students and we also support the parish Boy Scout Troop.  There is a Holy Name Mass the 2nd Sunday of the month followed by a coffee hour.  If interested in joining our group, please contact Anthony Stevens via email, or call the rectory (716) 873-6716. Marian Ministries

Marian Ministries was established at St. Andrew’s in 1964 as the Marian Guild.  It is an organization whose first purpose is to bring together all women parishioners under the banner of our Blessed Mother and, through dedication to her ideals, enhance the spiritual, service and social life of its members.   Marian Ministries members meet on the first Monday evening, September through June.  In addition, we coordinate the Living Rosary, May Crowning, a baked-goods sale, and other parish events.  All women, ages 18 and older, are invited to join.  Annual dues are $10., collected in May each year. Please contact Toni Sciog at 876-7268 for more information.  To see our calendar of events, click here.
